This is an exciting new series for boys. Each book is written to be read fairly quickly, so it is great for boys just out of SPP or who like to take their time with a book, and equally, it can be read quickly too, for those boys hungry for adventure!

The main character discovers a mystery about his father one day and then learns that his uncle is not to be trusted, so he escapes from his home and goes off 'on the run' for a long, action packed journey!   Book Website

'WE DINE WITH CANNIBALS' by C.Alex London



This is the second book in the series of 'Accidental Adventures', which is a funny, crazy book!   Twins, Oliver and Celia Navel have to travel to the Amazon, which shakes up their  their summer holiday. Suddenly their mother has vanished (again) going in search of the Lost City of Gold: El Dorado. Here they must learn the rules for dining at a cannibal feast and learn about dodgeball!

'PLAYGROUND' by 50 Cents

Finally a book by a modern day rapper!

This book is about a thirteen year old boy named Butterball, who does not cope well when he is bullied at school. Set in New York, Butterball has family problems when his parents divorce; his mother struggles to become a nurse and his father doesn't have a stable lifestyle.  Butterball is sad and humiliated about his life in general, wanting some new high-top trainers to keep up with the cool gang, but finding it hard to actually form friendships. He ends up seeing a counsellor to work through his problems and this results in him being able to follow his dreams of making movies, but not before a few issues have to be resolved along the way!

'BOYS UNITED' series by Tom Palmer


If you like SPORT books about soccer, then this series is for you! Tom Palmer has written a great collection of books featuring a group of boys who play in an Under 12 Premier League soccer team.  The author actually went to an English U12 soccer team and did some research before writing these stories. We currently have four titles in the MS Library for you to borrow. More are on their way!
